Is it important to apply moisturizer at night?

Yes, using beauty and skincare products with SPF is an excellent way to protect your skin from the sun but for outdoor activities or jobs outside it is best to apply sunscreen for maximum protection.

What is broad spectrum sunscreen?

Broad spectrum refers to a sunscreen’s ability to protect your skin from both UVA and UVB rays. Some sunscreen’s can only protect from UVB rays, but UVA rays are also harmful to the skin. Using a broad spectrum sunscreen ensures that your skin will be protected from both types of rays.

What’s the best way to treat a sun burn?

Place a cold compress on the burned area of the skin and apply a cooling gel or ointment containing aloe vera. Taking Tylenol or other anti-inflammatory medicines can help relive the discomfort.

Is skin cancer easily treatable?

Many types of skin cancers are easily treatable if they are detected early. If you wait too long to get checked by a doctor, problems may occur and the cancer can spread to other parts of the body.

Any type of tanning can increase your chance of getting skin cancer. Avoid tanning to decrease the likelihood of skin cancer.

Is it necessary to go for a skin screening every year?

A person’s skin can change a great deal in 12 months so it is essential to regularly get examined. Executing self-exams is also encouraged. For patients who have a family history of skin cancer, have already had skin cancer or have several moles, they should have a skin screening performed more frequently.
